Q: What are some tips for finding a good Realtor?
A: The best way, in my opinion, is through word of mouth. A referral from a friend or colleague is really the best way to find a good agent.
If you are moving into a town perhaps for a job or something, try asking a co-worker, the person who hired you or someone in the town to see if they know any Realtors that they like. You can’t really get an inside view into someone strictly from their website.
Probably the most important thing when choosing a Realtor is how well they listen to the customer’s needs.
This includes what exactly the customer is looking for, when they are going to purchase, and exactly what they expect when they are going to sell.
Knowledge of the marketplace is also important, as are their negotiating skills.
You want someone who has experience in several different areas and is familiar with a lot of different areas.
Like myself, for example. I was previously a mortgage broker, so I know exactly how the process works and what a homebuyer would need to do to get ready to buy a property.
